Krishna or Kanha, the God of protection, compassion and love, is one of the most popular and widely revered among Indian Deities. He is the eighth incarnation of Vishnu, the Preserver of the Universe. 

He is portrayed and worshipped in various perspectives reflecting the different stages of his life: a God-child, a prankster, a model lover and a divine Hero.

In the Mahabharata, Krishna is worshipped as the Universal Supreme Being who imparts spiritual guidance to the Prince Arjun as he prepares for war. Through His teachings in the Bhagwad Gita, Krishna provides counsel on all ethical and philosophical issues that might disturb us on our mortal journeys.
